Frequently Asked Questions
Qualifications
Where and when is the Platinum Retreat held?
The Platinum Retreat will be held at the Hilton Colon Hotel in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and the Young Living Academy and the Finca Botanica Farm in Chongon, Ecuador on November 12–17.
What are the qualification requirements?
Any member who has qualified as Platinum for the first time for three consecutive months between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024, and who has not previously attended a Platinum Retreat, is invited to attend the retreat one time. This reward is offered for one person per membership and an eligible guest.*
*Eligible guest must be at least 18 years old to attend.
What if I was paid as Platinum once before but this is my first time achieving Platinum three months in a row?
Though you have previously reached and been paid at the rank of Platinum, you are invited to attend based on the first time you qualify and are paid as a Platinum for three consecutive months. For example, Dawn was paid as Platinum for the first time in January 2022. However, her three consecutive months of being paid as a Platinum weren’t until August, September, and October 2023. She would be invited to the 2024 Platinum Retreat regardless of being a Platinum once before, even if it was prior to the current qualification period.
What if my three consecutive qualifying months are not within the qualification period?
The session to which you will be invited will be based on the qualification period in which your third qualifying month falls. For example, Glen advanced to Platinum in June 2023 and was paid as Platinum again in July and August 2023. Because his third consecutive month of Platinum falls within the current qualification period, he is eligible for the 2024 Platinum Retreat, even though his first consecutive month began in the previous qualification period.
If I qualify to attend all expenses paid, what does that cover?
Young Living will cover the cost of economy class airfare, accommodations, retreat gifts, certain retreat meals, retreat activities, and ground transportation for retreat activities during the event for the qualifying member and eligible guest during the retreat dates. If you arrive or depart outside of the designated dates of arrivals on November 12 and departures on November 17, ground transportation to and from the hotel will not be arranged or covered. Incidental costs, such as meals during travel, additional baggage fees, etc., will be covered at the attendee’s expense.
I can’t attend this year. What can I do?
If you qualify for but are unable to attend a recognition retreat, you may request a one-time deferral, and your request will be reviewed by the Global Recognition Team. To request a deferral, please send an email to recognition@youngliving.com with your name, member number, and reason for the deferral.
Deferrals will not be granted without proper notification and are not automatic. You must notify us if you do not plan to attend, or you will forfeit attendance to that recognition retreat.

Guests
What if I want to bring my co-applicant, business partner, or another guest?
Only one member per account can qualify to attend, but you may bring a co-applicant or business partner as your guest.
Qualifiers may invite one guest to attend with their expenses paid, which includes economy class airfare, accommodations, retreat gifts, certain retreat meals, retreat activities, and ground transportation for retreat activities during the event. Guest's must be at least 18 years old to attend.
Can my guest attend all the activities with me?
Registered guests are welcome to attend all retreat activities.
I recently had a baby. Can I bring an infant with me?
Attendees are permitted to bring an infant within nursing age. Attendees will pay any extra costs associated with bringing their infant.
Can I bring my children with me?
Young Living is a family company, and as such, we understand you may want to bring your children with you to the retreat. Please note that while this is allowed, Young Living will not provide activities, meals, accommodations, transportation, or day care options for your children nor will children be permitted to attend any retreat activity with you, with the exception of the Finca Botanica farm and Young Living Academy if space on the shuttles is available. Nursing infants are welcome to attend.
Can I change my guest ticket to another guest?
Yes. To change a guest or cancel your guest's ticket, please email events@youngliving.com. Qualifiers who make any guest changes after flights are booked will be responsible to pay for the airfare for the new guest.
Travel
When should I schedule my arrival and departure?
Please plan to arrive in Guayaquil on Tuesday, November 12 and depart on Sunday, November 17. If you arrive or depart outside of the designated dates, ground transportation to and from the hotel will be at your own expense.
Can I book my own flights?
You may choose to book your own flight and receive a flight stipend that will be reimbursed to you after the event has concluded. Flight stipend amounts will be based on your departure airport. The full stipend amount will be paid regardless of the cost of the flight booked, whether it is more or less than the stipend amount. We recommend booking your flights early to mitigate the risk of paying more than the stipend amount provided. See the Travel & Accommodation page for more details.
Within approximately two to four weeks following registration, the travel agency will contact you to coordinate travel arrangements. Please respond to the agent within 24 hours to avoid increased fares or flights selling out. Please do not contact the travel agency directly prior to an agent reaching out to you regarding Platinum Retreat flights. If the travel agency will be booking any additional guest’s flights, a credit card will be required at the time of booking.
What class are the flights? Can we upgrade?
All flights will be booked in economy class. Any available upgrades will be covered at the attendee’s expense.
If I need a visa to attend this event, will Young Living reimburse me for the visa application?
Young Living does not reimburse expenses incurred for visa applications. Travel costs incurred between a member’s home and the airport are at the member’s expense. We consider visa application fees a travel expense. Although we are happy to help facilitate this by drafting invitation letters, we cannot guarantee that members will receive a visa, as it depends on personal circumstances. If you would like to request a visa invitation letter, you can request this in the registration process.
Hotel Information
May I share a room with a friend?
Each qualifier will receive their own hotel room. If you are bringing a guest, you will be required to share a room.
What hotel will I be staying at? Do you have my hotel confirmation information?
All attendees will stay at the Hilton Colon in Guayaquil, Ecuador, unless you have opted to stay at the NovaVita bungalows at your own expense. Hotel room confirmation information will be emailed to you prior to the retreat. If you are staying at the NovaVita bungalows, your hotel confirmation will be sent to you from NovaVita directly.
May I book my own hotel room?
You may not book your own hotel room for Platinum Retreat, however, you may choose to stay at the bungalows offered by NovaVita at your own expense. To learn more, check out the Travel & Accommodations page.
May I extend my stay in Ecuador?
You are welcome to extend your stay in Ecuador. Young Living will pay for the airfare cost as long as there is no increase in the fare due to the changed dates. However, you will be responsible to pay for your own hotel accommodations for the additional nights. Young Living will only cover the cost of ground transportation, certain meals, and hotel accommodations during the retreat dates of November 12–17. If you arrive or depart outside of the designated dates, ground transportation to and from the hotel will not be arranged or covered.

Are there any restrictions or requirements for traveling to Guayaquil, Ecuador?
We will make every effort to communicate any information we know about the travel restrictions, requirements, and documentation required as we get closer to the dates of travel. Attendees will be expected to comply with any governmental restrictions and requirements.
